About Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. On November 23, 1911, on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. became the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically black college. The founders were three undergraduates, Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman, and their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just.  The four founders selected manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift as the organization’s cardinal principles and “friendship is essential to the soul” as its motto.  For more information on Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., visit

About Lambda Gamma Gamma. Lambda Gamma Gamma, a military-based chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was chartered at Fort George G. Meade in 1984.  Members include a multitude of civilians and military servicemen that span across all areas of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. This geographic uniqueness led the chapter to adopt the moniker “Capital Region Ques” during the 1990s as it grew in membership and geographic complexity at an exceeded rate.
