Welcome to the Capital Region Ques Website!Welcome to the official website of the Lambda Gamma Gamma chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.  Brother Michael Coward (Lambda Beta Beta, 1996) is the current Basileus of the chapter affectionately known as LGG among fraternity brothers, friends and followers.  We are currently the second largest (active financial members) chapter in the fraternity and proudly represent a mix of civilian, active duty, reserve & National Guard, and retired military fraternity members.  read more....

 

Lambda Gamma Gamma was formed in 1984 and has facilitated a total of 17 chapter leaders known in Omega dialogue as Basileus after the Greek word symbolizing leader of people among nations.

Join us for Achievement Week 2017: “ONE Omega, ONE Goal: Celebrating Our Service to the Nation.” 

Highlighting this year’s events is a visit to the Armed Forces Retirement Home, the International High School Essay Contest, a Brotherhood Luncheon highlighted by a discussion with Brigadier General Alfred F. Abramson III, the Founders Ball celebrating 106 years of the founding of the fraternity with legendary civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump as the keynote speaker, and the 21st Annual Birthday Bash celebration featuring “The Diabolical” DJ Biz Markie.

Members of the public are invited to attend various events. Sponsorship, press requests, volunteer efforts, vendors, souvenir journal ad placements, and donations are welcome. Funds will go towards scholarship assistance for college students.

Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Alexandria, Virginia plays host, yet again, as Omega men and valued patrons from across the nation travel annually to celebrate another successful year of existence of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity with the Capital Region Ques.  Don't miss out on this signature annual scholarship fundraiser event.

The event kicks-off on Friday November 17th at 9pm in the Grand Ballroom. Light appetizers will be provided as well as a cash bar. This year’s event features musical programming by the Legendary DJ Biz Markie and DJ Mase.  As everyone knows, "NOBODY BEATS THE BIZ!!!" Get your tickets NOW!!!!!

Achievement Week Essay Contest

Help spread the word.  Do you know a college-bound, high school senior that is an aspiring writer or interested in putting their writing to the test?  Each year, as part of Achievement Week, we conduct an essay contest catered to students in the DMV area.  This year, we're at it again!!! 

Prizes include:
 - 1st place, $500
 - 2nd place, $200
 - 3rd place, $100
* Win up to $5000 if your essay is considered the best in the country.

The Colonel Charles E. Young Scholarship Drive provides resources to the Uplift Foundation, 501(c) 3, with assistant from the Lambda Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. We award over $30,000 in scholarships annually to young men and women in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia areas to attend universities throughout the US.  Please support our youth by providing a tax deductible eligible donation to the Uplift Foundation today.
